Artist, Becca Perea-Kane, was inspired by her walks in nature when she began designing her line of botanical jewelry. Her pieces begin by casting found and foraged natural materials in sterling silver and 14k gold. Each piece is delicately finished by hand in her sun filled studio in North Adams, Massachusetts.
A delicate blackberry bramble makes a bar earring with minute texture that catches the light.
A relative of roses, the 'tall' blackberry grows widely across the Eastern US. The shrubs flower white in the spring and berries appear in the summer. The plants are eaten by insects, birds and mammals; there's evidence humans have been eating blackberries for thousands of years.
